Reports: General Purposes Committee of Aldermen

Minutes:

New arrangements for the administration of the Emanuel Hospital charity (charity number 206952).

 

Resolved:- That –

 

(i)            it be noted that key governance and policy decisions relative to the Emanuel Hospital charity will continue to be referred to the General Purposes Committee and the Court of Aldermen;

(ii)           whilst having regard to the existing operation and business of the General Purposes Committee and the Court of Aldermen, a sub-committee of the General Purposes Committee shall be established to deal with the management of the charity;

(iii)          delegated authority be granted to the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the General Purposes Committee of Aldermen to determine the membership of the sub-committee;

(iv)          decisions on key governance and policy matters (such as strategy, funding policy, investment policy, reserves policy, etc), and the annual approval of the Trustee report and financial statements, shall continue to be referred to the Court of Aldermen (via the General Purposes Committee) to ensure the Trustee’s proper oversight of the charity; and

(v)           a funding policy be submitted to the General Purposes Committee and the Court of Aldermen for approval in due course; and decisions taken on how the charity’s funds should be applied in accordance with the agreed funding policy.

Minutes:

Report of the General Purposes Committee of Aldermen: Worshipful Company of Fletchers

 

With the Court’s consent an additional item, notice of which did not appear on the agenda, was considered.

 

The Court of Aldermen considered a recommendation of the General Purposes Committee of Aldermen that, having considered the observations of the Chair of the Magistracy and Livery Sub-Committee, the City Remembrancer and the Clerk to the Chamberlain’s Court, the Court give its concurrence to the submission of the draft Royal Charter, draft Bylaws and draft Ordinances of the Worshipful Company of Fletchers to the Privy Council Office for consideration.

 

Resolved:- That the Court of Aldermen give its concurrence to the submission of the draft Royal Charter, draft Bylaws and draft Ordinances of the Worshipful Company of Fletchers to the Privy Council Office for consideration.
