Any other business that the Chair considers urgent and which the Committee agree should be considered whilst the public are excluded

Minutes:

The following items of business were discussed:

1.    It was noted that the following visitor attractions were closed:

·         Barbican Centre

·         Keats House

·         Monument

·         Tower Bridge

·         Billingsgate Market

·         City Information Centre

2.    Risk registers would be updated to reflect risks of break-ins at closed sites

3.    Online content would be amplified

4.    Officers would ensure a responsible approach with respect to cancelling agreements with artists, as it is important to ensure their continued success and future work with the City.

5.    In the future, the primary target for tourism would be domestic markets;

6.    Barbican, Shoe Lane and Artizan Street libraries were closed, however e-book and audio services, children’s reading time and online book groups were available online.

7.    LMA and Guildhall Library were closed, offering online support to users and managing records remotely as much as possible to ensure business continues when sites reopen.

8.    Parks had not yet closed but it was anticipated that they would soon. Children’s playgrounds, catering services, kiosks and sports offerings have stopped. Social distancing proved difficult over the weekend due to good weather which saw large numbers visiting open spaces.
