Recommendations:- General Purposes Committee of Aldermen

Minutes:

With the Court’s consent, two items of urgent business, of which advance notice had not been given, were considered.

 

(i) H.M.S President (the London Division Royal Naval Reserve)

To consider a recommendation of the General Purposes Committee of Aldermen to award H.M.S President (the London Division Royal Naval Reserve) the status, within the City of London, of a privileged Corps.

 

Resolved unanimously: That the Court of Aldermen awards H.M.S President (the London Division Royal Naval Reserve) the status, within the City of London, of a privileged Corps.

 

(ii) Letter- Alderman Baroness Scotland of Asthal Q.C.

To consider a recommendation of the General Purposes Committee of Aldermen to receive a letter from Alderman Baroness Scotland of Asthal Q.C. setting out her commitments since taking Office as Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Nations in April 2016; and noting her explanation about her attendance at City Corporation meetings as a result of the significant commitments of her Office as Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Nations, including on-going activities to increase the exposure and importance of both the Commonwealth of Nations and the City of London Corporation.
