The Gresham Music Collection at Guildhall Library PDF 146 KB To receive a proposal from the Principal Librarian at the Guildhall Library. Minutes: The Committee welcomed Jo Wisdom from the Guildhall Library to the meeting, and considered the report which sought Members’ blessing regarding a proposal to conserve and catalogue the Gresham Music Collection. In response to Members’ questions, Mr Wisdom advised that there were approximately 350 volumes in the collection, with the average cost for conserving a single volume being in the region of £300. It was noted that multiple possible funding sources had been identified, but that it was unlikely this Committee would be in a position to offer financial assistance.
RESOLVED – That (a) the Gresham (City Side) Committee give their blessing to the project; (b) further work be carried out regarding the ownership of the Gresham Music Collection; and (c) a visit to the Gresham Music Collection be arranged for Gresham (City Side) Members.

City of London Gresham Almshouses Update PDF 90 KB Report of the Director of Community & Children’s Services. Minutes: The Committee received a report of the Director of Community & Children’s Services regarding the Gresham Almshouses. Members discussed the report, and noted the change of name for the post of Matron to Almshouses Manager. In response to Members’ queries, the Sheltered Housing Manager reported that the Almshouses Manager had basic first aid training, the Japanese knotweed had been removed under a previous guarantee, and that the specification for works on No. 3, Gresham Almshouses, which was currently vacant, had been issued and work was anticipated to be completed before Christmas.
RESOLVED – That the report be noted. |

Gresham Charity - Risk Register PDF 134 KB Joint report of the Town Clerk, Chamberlain, and the Director of Community and Children's Services. Additional documents: Minutes: The Committee received a joint report of the Town Clerk, Chamberlain and Director of Community & Children’s Services. In response to a question from the Chairman, the Chamberlain confirmed that the risks had been both considered and agreed by the Risk Owners.
RESOLVED – That the register satisfactorily sets out the risks faced by the charity, and appropriate measures are in place to mitigate those risks. |

Revenue Outturn - 2014/15 PDF 133 KB Joint report of the Chamberlain and Director of Community and Children’s Services. Minutes: The Committee received a joint report of the Chamberlain and Director of Community & Children’s Services regarding the final budget and the revenue outturn for 2014/15. Members noted that the funding for Gresham Biography would come from the City’s Cash Contingency, but would be transferred to this Committee’s budget before being paid to the College.

Minutes: The Committee received a joint report of the Chamberlain and Director of Community & Children’s Services regarding the revenue budget for 2015/16 and 2016/17. Members noted that the movement between 2015/16 original and 2016/17 proposed budget was principally due to a reduction in City Moiety rental income due to a one-off receipt which was originally included in the 2015/16 estimate.
RESOLVED – That the latest 2015/16 and provisional 2016/17 revenue budgets be approved for submission to the Finance Committee. |
