Roger is a retired Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and Member the Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountants. During his business career he was the Finance Director/shareholder of an accounting software company based in the City and owned a specialist holiday company in Egypt.


 He was elected a Member of Common Council for the Ward of Tower in 1994 and has served on most major City of London Committees. He was Chairman of the Finance Audit Sub Committee, Chairman of the Finance Committee (2011-16), Deputy Governor of The Irish Society (2015-17) and is currently Chairman of the City of London Freemen’s School. He also served as the City’s Representative on the London Councils Audit Committee for 5 years.


Roger has been a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of World Traders since 2000 and is a life member and Vice President of the Tower Ward Club.


Outside the City Corporation Roger is Chairman of the GB Executive of Co-operation Ireland, the leading Cross-Border Charity, a Governor and Member of the Advisory Council of Goodenough College and Honorary Treasurer of the Guild Church of St Lawrence Jewry.


Over the years Roger has used his City of London experience and relationships to develop and strengthen historical links, and during his time as Deputy Governor of the Honourable Irish Society was responsible for developing several community links in County Londonderry and across Northern Ireland.
