Resolutions on Retirements, Congratulatory Resolutions, Memorials etc.

Minutes:

Vote of Thanks to Peter Nelson (Assistant Town Clerk):-

Resolved unanimously– That, on the occasion of his retirement from the City of London Corporation, this Court takes the greatest possible pleasure in conveying to Peter Nelson its sincere appreciation of his valuable service to the Corporation during the past 37 years, firstly as an Assistant Committee Clerk, then as an Assistant City Secretary and, finally, as an Assistant Town Clerk.

Peter is very much “home grown” and having worked closely with this Court throughout the past three decades, Members have greatly valued and benefited from his sound advice on many issues of a varied, complex and, occasionally, highly sensitive nature. This Court has admired and appreciated Peter’s infamous sense of humour and, as a result of his diplomatic yet frank approach, his ability to give good counsel to all Members.  Peter’s knowledge of the City Corporation and of this Court, much like his knowledge of aircraft, is significant and his wisdom and familiarity will be missed.

The Members very much welcome this opportunity to pay a personal and sincere tribute to Peter for his significant contribution to the work of this Court and for the extremely capable way in which he has carried out the role of Assistant Town Clerk over the past twenty years.  They warmly express the hope that he will enjoy a long and happy retirement with many happy memories of his time spent with the City of London Corporation.

Peter Nelson replied in suitable terms.
