Petition to the Privy Council for a Royal Charter - Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators Minutes: (i) By The Rt Hon The Lord Mayor, Alderman Roger Gifford
Of the Guild of Public Relations Practitioners petitioning to proceed from Guild to Company without Livery status.
Read and referred to the General Purposes Committee for examination and report, Mr. Chamberlain, Mr. Comptroller & City Solicitor and the Director (Public Relations), being instructed to report thereon.
(ii) To the Privy Council for a Royal Charter
Of the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators requesting a change of status and a change of title.
Resolved – That the Court of Aldermen endorse the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators’ petition to the Privy Council for a Royal Charter.
(iii) Company of Educators
A recommendation of the General Purposes Committee recommending that the Company of Educators be constituted as a Livery Company of the City of London and that the prayer of the Petition be complied with, on the following conditions:
• That the number of the Livery should not exceed 300; • That the fine for admission to the Livery should be not less than £65; and • That no person shall be admitted to the Livery of the Company unless he or she first produces his or her copy of the freedom of the City of London.
That as the proposed Constitution and Ordinances conform to the law and custom of the City, the Company of Educators be constituted a Livery Company of the City with the title “The Worshipful Company of Educators,” that the formal grant be embodied in Letters Patent under the Mayoralty Seal and that the proposed Constitution and Ordinances be approved and enrolled among the records of the Court of Aldermen as the 109th Livery Company of the City.
Resolved – That the recommendation be agreed to. |

Letters - (a) The Right Honourable the Lord Mayor to lay before the Court a letter from Alderman Robert Hall offering to surrender his office as Alderman for the Ward of Farringdon Within.
(b) The Right Honourable the Lord Mayor to lay before the Court a letter from Alderman Andrew Parmley offering to surrender his office as Alderman for the Ward of Vintry. Minutes: The Town Clerk lay before the Court a letter from Alderman Robert Hall offering to surrender his Office of Alderman of the Ward of Farringdon Within and a letter from Alderman Dr Andrew Parmley offering to surrender his Office of Alderman of the Ward of Vintry.
