Complaint by LM against MB - Points of clarification

At the Assessment Sub-Committee’s request on 21st January 2016, the Town Clerk and the City Surveyor have provided written clarification in respect of a number of issues (TO FOLLOW).

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee considered documentation provided by the City Surveyor and the Town Clerk in response to a request for written clarification on a number of issues that had arisen at their last meeting on 21 January 2016.

The Sub-Committee reviewed all of the documentation that had been submitted to date in respect of one allegation.

Having reviewed the additional documentation before them alongside that submitted to the original Sub Committee on 21 January 2016 and having considered the current City Corporation assessment criteria, it was agreed unanimously that no breach of the Code of Conduct had been evidenced.

RESOLVED - Having carefully considered the allegation and read all of the relevant papers, the Committee were satisfied that the allegation was not evidenced and that there had therefore been no breach of the Code of Conduct. It appeared to the Sub-Committee that the Respondent had simply forwarded on the email in neutral terms as would be expected of any member in receipt of such correspondence and there was no evidence of any inappropriate influence. The Committee therefore decided unanimously that the complaint should not be referred for investigation and that no further action should be taken.
