Mr Seaton advised that his daughter worked for Knight Frank, who produced the property report for the Joint Grand Gresham Committee, but this was declared via the register of Related Party Transactions. |

Matters Arising
Gresham Music Collection Members noted that the College and the Mercers’ Company were due to visit the collection in November, after which potential funding sources could be explored.
Visits to the Gresham Almshouses The Deputy Chairman reminded Members the Hamper visit was scheduled for 13th December, and the residents’ party at Avondale Square estate was scheduled for 25th October. |

Gresham Almshouses Update PDF 87 KB Report of the Director of Community & Children’s Services. Minutes: The Committee received a report of the Director of Community & Children’s Services regarding the Gresham Almshouses. In response to Members’ queries, officers advised that regular checks were undertaken to evaluate the standard of repair works, the roads on the entire site had been resurfaced and the drains had been cleared.
RESOLVED – That the report be noted. |

The Sir Thomas Gresham Charity - Risk Register PDF 87 KB Report of the Chamberlain. Additional documents: Minutes: The Committee considered a report of the Chamberlain which provided the key risks register for the Sir Thomas Gresham Charity for review. Members discussed the risks identified and the Deputy Chairman (along with the Chairman, in his absence) undertook to review and circulate further detail regarding the timescale of the two year improvement plan mentioned in the first two risks. Members also asked for additional wording to be added to the second risk and, in non-public session, discussed an additional risk regarding reputational damage to the Corporation.
RESOLVED – That: a) risk two be amended to read “Almshouses may become unstable and/or unusable due to insufficient maintenance of buildings or grounds”; b) a fourth risk be added regarding the potential of reputational damage; and c) further detail be circulated electronically regarding the timescale of the two year improvement plan. |
