MATTERS ARISING
Appointment of Donation Governors (page 2) – The Chairman reported that, with Dennis Cotgrove now also due to step down from the Court of Common and, therefore, from this Committee, Members would now need to appoint three additional Donation Governors (one in the room of Dennis Cotgrove as Donation Governor for Francesca Shannon, one in the room of Lucy Frew as Donation Governor for Calvin Nifah and one as Donation Governor for the City’s chosen 2017 presentee) at their April 2017 meeting.
It was reported that Wendy Mead, whose presentee was set to leave the School this Summer, was content to act as Donation Governor for Francesca Shannon in the room of Dennis Cotgrove. Deputy Henry Pollard, whose presentee had left the School last Summer, was content to act as Donation Governor for Calvin Nifah in the room of Lucy Frew. The Town Clerk clarified that these appointments would need to be formalised at the April 2017 meeting and were also subject to these Members being re-elected to the Court of Common Council at the City’s all-out elections later this week.
The Chairman went on to refer to the existing vacancies on this Committee which would now be re-advertised to all Members at the May 2017 Court of Common Council meeting.
Freedom of the City – Corporal Leaky (page 2) – Several Members of the Committee, including the Chairman, commented that they had been privileged to attend the Freedom Ceremony for Corporal Leaky alongside several students from Christ’s Hospital, held at the Guildhall last year.
Information flow from Christ’s Hospital (page 3) – Members commented that they were very grateful for the improvements made in this area and thanked the Development Officer and Head of Admissions for their efforts here.
