Andrew McMurtrie was elected to Common Council in 2013, as a member for Coleman Street Ward, having worked in the Ward for 25 years.  With a background in the Investment Management business, he served as Chair of the Financial Investment Board and the Investment Committee, before being elected to the Policy & Resources committee in 2018.  Andrew is Chair of the City of London Academies Trust, which now sponsors 8 state funded schools, and sits as a Magistrate on the Central London Bench.  He is a Court Assistant of both the Salters’ Livery Company and the Worshipful Company of Parish Clerks.  Outside the City he is Chair of the Investment committee of the Diocese of Southwark, where he is on the Diocesan Board of Trustees, is a Churchwarden of St Augustine Honor Oak Park and a Director of Stanstead Lodge Senior Club, which provides daytime activities for over 50s.
