Additional Information
Mary Durcan was a senior manager in the NHS in a large teaching hospital. She spent 6 years living in the USA (Stamford, Connecticut) and has now been a resident of the Barbican since 2004. She visits Japan frequently to see family.
She was a Magistrate for 30 years in Oxford and was Chair of the Licensing Committee (when Licensing was part of the Magistrate’s remit) and a member and Chair of the Family Panel.
She was involved in her children’s scout group for many years and still has connections. She was also involved in Women’s Aid as a trustee and Chair of the local group.
Mary enjoys opera, theatre, reading, travelling and spending time with her large family (husband, 4 children and 7 grandchildren).
