Brian Mooney has been a City resident in Queenhithe since 1990 and was first elected to represent the ward at Common Council in 1998. He is a prize-winning journalist and author, and worked for Reuters for 30 years in more than 50 countries. He speaks near fluent Spanish, Italian and French and masters basic Polish, Swedish, German, Hebrew and Russian. Since leaving Reuters, Mooney has worked in international PR and has published six books and contributed articles to The Times, The Financial Times, The Tablet and various magazines. A long-distance walker and mountaineer, he is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and has an Oxford University degree in History and French.
