Tijs is a communications, public policy and government affairs expert – having worked in senior positions for several national and global companies based in the UK. He has experience campaigning on issues relevant to the City of London ranging from technology, transport infrastructure and security to skills, inclusion and equal opportunities.
Tijs has previously been as a trustee at Future Capital – a charity supporting innovation in health and social care – and volunteered as a Special Constable in central London. He currently serves as deputy chair for The City Academy, Hackney, trustee at the City of London Academies Trust, governor at the Museum of London and as trustee for Working Chance – a charity helping women ex-offenders into jobs. In addition, Tijs is an active member of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths.
Based in the City, Tijs currently works in the tech sector as government relations lead for HP Inc in the UK, Ireland, Benelux and the Nordics. Having worked for the Equality and Human Rights Commission, and its predecessor the Equal Opportunities Commission, he is passionate about social mobility and promoting a diverse and inclusive City.
