Additional Information

Tijs is a communications and government affairs expert who has worked for several high-profile public, private and not-for-profit organisations. He started his career as a political advisor in the European Parliament, and has held senior positions representing British businesses - campaigning on issues relevant to the City in Westminster and Brussels, ranging from transport infrastructure, global security, skills and employment services to EU policy (pensions, financial services, employment and gender equality).

In addition, Tijs has a strong commitment to voluntary service - previously as a Special Constable in central London supporting the Police on the front line, and currently as a Trustee of Working Change helping women ex-offenders and care leavers into employment, and Future Care Capital supporting innovative start-ups in the health sector.

Having worked for the Equal Opportunities Commission (now Equality and Human Rights Commission) he is passionate about promoting a diverse and inclusive City.
