The Town Clerk noted that Shravan Joshi CC and Deputy Kevin Everett CC had been appointed to the Committee in September 2018 but that their names had been omitted from the agenda sheet in error.

Apologies were received from Deputy Kevin Everett, Deputy Henry Pollard, Vivienne Littlechild OBE, Deputy Edward Lord, Deputy Catherine McGuinness, Wendy Mead, Alderman Sir Andrew Parmley, John Scott (Chief Commoner) and Ian Seaton.

To receive the Focused Compliance and Educational Quality Inspection Report for Christ’s Hospital School.

Almoners and Governors considered the Independent Schools Inspectorate Focused Compliance and Educational Quality Inspection Report for Christ’s Hospital School (November 2018) and the following points were made.

·         In response to a question, the Partnerships Manager noted that the School was undertaking a 10-15-year renovation programme of its Boarding accommodation.

·         In response to a question, the Head of Marketing agreed to provide an update at the Committee’s April 2019 meeting on the School’s work to encourage girls’ participation in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). Governors would also be invited to the School’s Speech Day in May 2019, and a Committee Visit could be convened in September 2019.

RESOLVED, that the Independent Schools Inspectorate Focused Compliance and Educational Quality Inspection Report for Christ’s Hospital School (November 2018) be received.

Christ’s Hospital Maths Challenge Event – 27 March 2019

The Partnerships Manager noted that a Maths Challenge event would be taking place at Guildhall on 27 March 2019 and that Almoners and Governors would be welcome to attend.

MOTION - That under Section 100(A) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the following items on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Part I of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act.

Almoners and Governors considered a report of the Town Clerk outlining City Presentees and their Donation Governors.

To consider applications for the City of London Corporation’s Presentee to Christ’s Hospital for 2019.

Almoners and Governors considered three applicants for the 2019 City Presentation place.

The Town Clerk noted that Applicant A had withdrawn their application as they had accepted a Presentation place from the Worshipful Company of Carpenters.

Almoners and Governors considered the application submitted by Applicant B.
