Bronek Masojada has a portfolio of interests. He is chair of the East End Community Foundation which serves residents in Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and the City of London. Bronek is also chair of Placing Platform Limited which is driving the digitisation of the London Insurance Market. He is an adviser, mentor and investor in a number of smaller businesses.


Bronek retired as CEO of Hiscox Ltd in 2021. He joined Hiscox in 1993 as Group Managing Director, and he was appointed Chief Executive in 2000. During his time at Hiscox it grew its revenues from $500m to almost $5billion, from a single office in London to 34 across the world and from 200 staff to over 3,000. Hiscox is quoted on the London Stock Exchange. Bronek continues to chair Hiscox Asia.


From 1989 to 1993 Bronek was employed by McKinsey and Co. He served as a Deputy Chairman of Lloyd’s from 2001 to 2007 and was Chairman of the Lloyd’s Tercentenary Research Foundation from 2008 to 2014. Bronek also served as a director of Pool Re and on the Board of the Association of British Insurers. He is a past president of The Insurance Institute of London and a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Insurers


Bronek’sinterests include kite-surfing, mountain biking, motor car racing and bee keeping.
