Munsur Ali is a film producer and an elected Member of the City of London Corporation, where he is also the Chairman for Culture, Heritage and Libraries.
Munsur, grew up in the City where he still lives and he also went to the local Aldgate Primary School (formerly Sir John Cass Foundation), now attended by his own children.
Since graduating with honours in 2004 in BA Film and Broadcast Productions, Munsur has produced numerous content from promos to feature films, his debut film 'Shongram' (‘Struggle’), a romantic drama set during the independence struggle of Bangladesh during 1971, released in UK theatres in 2019. He is passionate about diversity, shared heritage and topics around identity.
Munsur was admitted as an Honorary Fellow for research in culture at Queen Mary University in 2022. He founded the 'Mela in the City,' 'The Limelight Film Awards' and 'The London Bengali Film Festival.' He is currently working on a slate of feature films, and regularly appears on TV, Radio and print as a speaker or discussing issues, ranging from diversity and leadership in economic opportunities to representation in cinema and the media.
