James Henry George Pollard, Deputy

Henry Pollard has spent over 35 years working in the City for a range of financial services companies. He has worked in Europe and Mexico as well as London in the commodity, derivatives, capital raising and fund management industries and was a founding member of EMFA (the alternative investments fund association now known as AIMA). He is currently Managing Director at C&E Capital Consulting asset raising and representing funds and companies. He has previously held senior positions at other UK and US asset management firms.

Henry is an elected Member of the City of London Corporation, first elected for the Ward of Dowgate in 2002.  He is Chairman of the Markets Board (with oversight of our 3 London wholesale markets: Smithfield, Billingsgate and New Spitalfields) and currently sits on the charity Bridge House Estates, the Financial Investment Board, Pensions Committee, Planning & Transportation Committee and Port Health & Environmental Services Committee. 

He has previously served on the Police Authority Board (and has served on the Safer City Partnership where he was Chairman of both whilst being Patron of the City of London Crime Prevention Association). He is also a past Chairman of the Corporation’s Christ’s Hospital Committee serving as a Donation Governor of the school, where he has served as an Almoner on the Foundation. He is past Chairman of the Vintry & Dowgate Wards’ Club and has served as Deputy Governor of The Honourable The Irish Society.

Henry is a Liveryman of the Skinners’ Company and became a Freeman in 1991 and has served on the Court as an Extra Member. He is a founding member and Upper Warden of the Guild of Investment Managers. He was educated at a Skinner’s school, Tonbridge School in Kent.

Henry is married to Michelle and they have two sons with whom he enjoys sport.
